Smoov-E & Special Guest Andre Nickatina
9:00 p.m.
A performer / songwriter / producer / musician; Eli possesses the mettle of a rocker. He oozes charisma. Although life wasnât always sex, drugs, and Rock âNâ Roll for the Tennessee born, Bay Area bred talent, his path to the Rock âNâ Roll lifestyle was in one word, unconventional.
Drawing on his Tennessee roots Eli traded break beats for rock riffs and left behind his urban moniker, Smoov-E. Eli is a self-taught musician, fueled by his desire to create different sound scapes with live instruments. In the process of learning to play the guitar and keys, his affinity for instrumentation grew and that catalyzed his transition from Smoov-E caricatures and urban risqué raps to Eli. His forthcoming records are a manifestation of his transition to a mature, well-versed artist. Still, some habits are not easily broken, as Eli has kept his signature risqué tongue and cheek lyrics intact and has created his own brand of modern rock with pop sensibility.
His innate ability to draw people in is evident in his popularity on social media websites. Eliâs YouTube videos have garnered 30,000 to over 100,000 views each, he has over 3,000,000 total plays on Myspace and is searched for over 60,000 times a month on Googleâimpressive for an indie artist.
For the past two years, Eli has performed before sold out shows rocking for crowds numbering in the thousands while touring with San Francisco legend Andre Nickatina. Andre recognized Eliâs talent for engaging fans and decided to cultivate him under his I-Khan Distribution label.
A true artist in every sense of the word, Eli commands his guitar on-stage and has a track record that demonstrates his ability and success in the music industry. Eli will change the way Rock-N-Roll is listened to by bringing back that good old feeling and nostalgia, with a twist all his own.

Kina Grannis
8:00 PM
Kina started playing shows at the age of four in front of her stuffed animals. Now she plays in front of people, though it wasnât the quickest transition for the admittedly shy songstress.
While attending college at USC, Kina often retreated to the secluded stairwells around campus where she could write and sing without being heard. Protected by their quiet confines, she found a safe haven and a creative outlet for her music. Armed with a guitar and a cup of tea, Kina wrote in every stairwell she came across. And it was within these stairwells that she developed her confidence as a songwriter and her poise as a performer.
In 2007, Kina joined YouTube, made a music video and entered herself into a contest. A few months later, her video for âMessage From Your Heartâ aired during the Superbowl and its 97 million viewers (or 194 million eyeballs, depending on how youâre keeping track) and she walked away with a record deal. Since then, Kina has regularly posted her songs on YouTube, amassing many millions of views, and toured throughout North America. Her songs have been heard on television shows such as ABCâs General Hospital and MTVâs College Life.
Kina independently released her first full-length album, Stairwells, on February 23, 2010. Her music is both sweet and melancholy, but always filled with hope. Sheâd want you to know that she saves drowning honeybees from pools whenever she gets the chance.

Youth Lagoon
7:00 p.m.
Twenty-two year old Trevor Powers, whose musical venture is called Youth Lagoon, has had a long year. Not because he's been endlessly touring or pursuing some wild dream, but because of life - the life of a kid going to college, being in love, dealing with heartache, and just living. "Youth Lagoon isn't me." says Powers. "It's merely a part of me. I was in and out of different bands in high school and always tried to define myself by what music I played. I tried to find a sense of meaning by being in a band. But it wasn't until this last year - when I realized I was more than just music - that I was able to create music that means something to me. And that is Youth Lagoon." Throughout the course of 2010, Powers began to write an album about things he had a hard time talking about. He claims that when he tries to talk about it to people, he doesn't make sense. So he wrote an album about it titled The Year of Hibernation. "For my whole life I've dealt with extreme anxiety." says Powers. "Not anxiety about passing a test or somewhat normal things, but weird.. bizarre things. Things that only I know. I sometimes feel like I'm literally being eaten up inside. So I started writing these songs. Not just songs about my anxiety, but about my past and my present. Songs about memories, and all those feelings that those bring. I know that if I can be honest about what is inside my mind, there will be others that will be able to relate to it." Although his music seems somewhat dreamy with the first listen, the lyrics show a different side to the matter. Hidden beneath the melodies is a voice that is eerie yet nostalgic. Powers claims his music is like letting people read his journal. "I don't think I could ever write a completely happy album. It's not that I'm not a happy person," claims Powers, "but I just have too many things in my mind that haunt me."

Brother Ali
8:00 PM
Brother Ali has no reservations in saying that he's "trying to be one of the greatest of all time" (on the Molemen track "Life Sentence"). Inspired by golden era legends like KRS-One and Rakim, this undisputed Master of Ceremony began rapping as a means of survival.
Growing up albino (colorless hair, skin and eyes, poor vision, and extreme sensitivity to the sun) in a world of cruel kids made it strikingly obvious to Ali that he needed a high-powered way to earn some respect and prestige among his peers. As a result, ever since elementary school he hasn't slowed down with his lyrical grind. In his rare moments of silence these days, if you catch his eyes, you'll notice that this Minneapolis denizen is rapping in his head. For Ali, hip-hop doesn't stop when he exits the studio or stage.
